Resilient High-Performance Processors

Lucid Circuit is developing solutions in the form of resilient high-performance processors and by accelerating reliable chip
development.

Astrum™ is Lucid Circuit’s line of radiation-tolerant and energy-efficient processors for reliable high-performance cognitive applications in edge
devices. Edge devices, such as sensors, currently have to send data to the cloud for processing. Instead, Astrum™ processors would allow more
complex computations “at the edge.” This could, for example, allow medical devices to process more and more of the data rather than sending it to
the cloud. In addition to medical applications, Astrum™ technology can enable many technologies that involve on-board processing — 3D VR
headsets, drones and other autonomous vehicles, as well as mobile communication.

Astrum™ leverages dynamically configurable processing fabric that enables the real-time scaling of application compute density. This allows
Astrum™ processors to deliver the high-performance and power-efficiency of custom ASICs, along with the flexibility of FPGAs and programming
ease of GPUs/CPUs without the costs, risks and limitations. An additional benefit of this is that, if part of the chip is damaged, the computations can
be moved to other areas. This provides the reliability necessary for many of these applications.

Lucid Circuit, Inc. is also developing the Radiation-Effects Susceptibility Analysis & Prediction (RSAPTM) platform. Our society’s demand for higher
performance and lower power electronics is driving the development of new generations of smaller and more efficient semiconductor technologies.
However, in addition to rising development and fabrication costs, these new semiconductors are increasingly vulnerable.

By leveraging predictive modeling, machine learning, and compute accelerators, the RSAP™ platform predicts failure rates and automatically
identifies the areas of an electronic chip that are vulnerable to cosmic rays prior to chip fabrication. RSAP™ reduces the cost, complexity, and
delays associated with developing resilient microprocessors, ensuring a one-pass success for chip designers in sensitive applications.

Our society’s demand for higher performance and lower power electronics is driving the development of new generations of smaller and more
efficient semiconductor technologies. These present several challenges. Use of these new semiconductor technologies for modern applications such
as machine learning and classification is challenged by the limitations of the available purpose-built high-risk, high-cost hardware. As a result,
current solutions are not suited for treating information at the edge where it is created. Furthermore, in addition to rising development and
fabrication costs, these new semiconductors are increasingly vulnerable to the effects of cosmic rays emanating from the sun. Lucid Circuit is
committed to solving the problems that come along with these demands associated with new technologies.
